The tour announcement arrives alongside growing anticipation for 'Give Me Dirt', set for release on August 7, 2026 via Bat Skull / Marshall Records. The album marks a major new chapter for the band following their recent signing to Marshall Records and arrives during what is shaping up to be a landmark year for Cancer Bats as they celebrate over two decades of relentless touring and genre-defining heavy music.
Ahead of the album's release, Cancer Bats have unveiled the explosive new single "Stay Stuck", accompanied by a hilarious and heartfelt music video directed by Mitch Barnes. The clip finds the band revisiting the day jobs they held before Cancer Bats took off, reflecting the optimism and determination that fuelled their early years.
"'Stay Stuck' was such a fun song for us to write," says vocalist Liam Cormier. "It was one of the first songs that we finished while working on the new record, and we really all felt like we had tapped into the classic Cancer Bats bouncy fun element we've had in songs since the beginning."
Produced by legendary metal producer Kurt Ballou alongside Zach Weeks at God City Studios in Salem, Massachusetts, 'Give Me Dirt' sees Cancer Bats pushing their sound further than ever before. The album follows 2022's JUNO-nominated 'Psychic Jailbreak' and finds the band exploring themes of nature, personal transformation, loss, environmental destruction and freedom through travel.
Recorded organically with all four members collaborating in the same room, 'Give Me Dirt' captures the raw energy and chemistry that have made Cancer Bats one of heavy music's most enduring and respected acts. The current lineup features vocalist Liam Cormier, drummer Mike Peters, bassist Jaye Schwarzer and guitarist Jackson Landry.
Reflecting the album's themes of reconnecting with the physical world, Cormier also created the record's artwork by hand, producing a giant mixed-media painting using paint, paper, stencils and drywall mud rather than digital tools.
"So many people I find are so sick of AI these days and all things that look too polished," says Cormier. "I wanted the artwork to capture the energy of the album, but also represent us as a band. We are rough and dirty, our sound is loud and a mix of so many influences."
With more than 20 years under their belt, seven acclaimed studio albums, six JUNO Award nominations and a reputation for some of the most intense live shows in heavy music, Cancer Bats continue to prove why they remain one of the genre's most vital bands.
With a new album, a new label partnership and a packed international touring schedule ahead, 2026 is set to be one of the biggest years in Cancer Bats' history.
